Gabrielle Pierre

Graduate Student

Gabrielle Pierre is an international student from Kingston, Jamaica simultaneously pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Engineering, and a Masters in Environmental Planning and Design at the University of Georgia. In the future, she hopes to become an international city planning consultant combining data analysis and community-centered design approaches to address increasing urbanization, climate adaptation, resilience, and facility access. Gaby has stumbled through several career paths: marine biology, solar nanotechnology, and most recently, environmental engineering; ultimately discovering that city planning offered her a unique opportunity to reconcile both her quantitative and creative interests in a fulfilling way. She is excited to research resilience and resilient infrastructure on a city scale in the IRIS Lab and explore the synergies between urban planning and ecological engineering now, and throughout her career.
