Civil and Environmental Ph.D. Candidate-College of Engineering
“I’m a Ph.D. student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems (IRIS), where we explore how natural and conventional infrastructure interact at stream crossings. My work focuses on designing infrastructure through multi-objective, risk-based approaches that prioritize culvert adaptation by integrating hydrologic, ecological, and spatial data. These strategies support ecosystem connectivity, reduce flooding and wildlife-vehicle collisions, and guide resilient design decisions across scales—from local stream reaches to statewide planning—as weather patterns and landscapes evolve.”
